Economic Impact Analysis

Do you have a big prospect but question the impact on your community? Alliant Energy can help!

Alliant Energy, along with the University of Northern Iowa's Institute for Decision Making (IDM) is offering an outstanding service to communities in its service territory.

For a small fee, of which Alliant Energy pays up to 45 percent, communities can obtain a timely economic impact analysis of a new, expanding or downsizing company.

Through the use of IMPLAN, an input/output modeling system, IDM can produce a report that will summarize the direct, indirect and induced impact of sales, payroll and construction.

Eligibility

Any community in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin served by Alliant Energy.

Requirements

The community must provide necessary data including SIC, expected annual payroll, expected annual sales, number of jobs created, construction costs (if known) and county or group of counties to be analyzed.

Fee

$300 (Alliant Energy pays up to 45 percent; additional one-time fee for counties in Minnesota and Wisconsin)
